When we opened our doors in 1981, we found that clients who hired traditional advertising agencies received pretty good strategic marketing but often settled for (to put it charitably) uninspired creative execution. And clients who hired a graphic design firm? They got good design, perhaps award-winning design, but the strategic thinking (if any) was mediocre at best. So were the results. Enough, we said.
